Twas the night before Christmas....

And the girls are asleep awaiting Santa's arrival! The presents are under the tree ready for the girls in the morning. I made a double batch of strawberry slush, which I have not had in years. Is it bad that the smell of it just brings back memories of Christmas at home?haha
I'm a little sad that I forgot to have Addyson put out cookies for santa, oh well, she is still a little young for that and will hopefully never remember that we forgot!
I am so excited for her first Christmas where she will be really aware of what's going on. She's been talking about santa for weeks and is so excited! We said goodbye to Buddy our elf tonight, I know she will miss finding him in the morning.
It's also Avery's first Christmas, the past 7 months have gone so quickly. She's getting so big! She's standing and climbing on everything in sight! She also likes to put everything in her mouth, so there is no leaving this girl alone for even a second! I know she is going to be walking soon, she already leaves go of things and stands for a few seconds unassisted before falling down. Makes me sad, where did my baby go?
Addyson and Avery just adore each other, and I hope I can think the same thing in 10 years from now! They play so well together and Addyson watches out for her and makes sure she is behaving herself. It's great to hear Addy call her sister her best friend ever!

Merry Christmas to everyone!!! I need to get to bed, I have a feeling we'll be up early tomorrow!

2 in one night? I think so...

The girls are in bed, and I am attempting to play santa. The gifts remain in front of me, unwrapped, as I sit in the recliner and blog instead.
Tonight I got the walker out of the attic for Avery. She's getting so big! She's been crawling for over a month now, and is standing and cruising along furniture! Two days ago she left go of something she was holding onto and stood for a few seconds unassisted! Slow down girl, seriously!
Addyson has been in bed since 7, and just a few minutes ago yelled for me from upstairs. "MOM!" is what she calls me. I think it's funny and it makes me sad all at the same time. I still want to be mommy while she is little, I'm not ready to cut it short! She knew I was just going to put in a new movie for her and let her sleep so she looked at me and said, "Mom, I'm sick in my belly and need to puke"-Really?! So of course I run her to the bathroom for her to just spit in the bathroom sink and say, "Ahh, that feels better!" Oh what a drama queen!

We are getting nightly visits from Buddy the Elf during this holiday season. Addyson loves him and searches for him first thing each morning! I will be sad when this time of year comes to an end. This morning Buddy was inside the cookie jar, and seemingly he had eaten all the cookies!!! (There were never any in there, but she'll never know that!ha) She told me that she was going to tell Santa on him and that Santa was going to kick his elf butt! I am still laughing!

I'm a terrible blogger....

Each day that Addyson or Avery does something cute or funny, I think that I am going to get better. When it comes down to it, I just want to spend more time with them and not spend any time on the computer to write an entry. So, today, a year and some later, I'm finally updating!

Addyson is almost 3! Her behavior is a little more questionable these days and her patience is not what it used to be, but she is still a really good little girl! She's turned into a really good eater too! She eats all sorts of veggies and fruits. She is sitting on my lap right now while I write this and she is sharing her snack of kettle corn with me. I sure love this little girl! She said to me just two days ago that her belly hurt, when I asked her why, she said, "Oh, just nufing, I'm just hafin a baby".LOL! The things this girl comes up with! A few more of my favorite Addyson quotes are:
"I love you too" (Which she says even when no one says it to her)
"You're my best friend" (When she is talking to me or her sissy)
She calls ice cream "lick"

And I have so much more to share, but Avery is teething and pretty fussy, so I am going to go tend to her needs now!
